Patriot Reflections

9/7/10

This past week at Wardlaw Academy everyone has been extremely busy as usual.  Students have been working diligently as the grade deadlines quickly approach for interim reports this week.  I’m sure everyone is more than prepared to see their grades.

In the last week our student athletes have also been extremely busy. Our junior varsity and varsity volleyball team took on Augusta Christian on Monday and King Academy on Tuesday.   The JV won both matches.  However, the varsity sadly lost to Augusta Christian on Monday but recovered on Tuesday by completely wiping out the King Academy Knights.  The varsity girls’ record now stands at 12-2.  In the up-coming week the girls will be playing Newberry Academy at home on the eighth, Spartanburg Christian on the ninth, and they will be participating in the Augusta Prep Tournament this weekend.

This week was also a successful week for our boys’ athletics as well.  Our JV boys’ football team did not have a game on Thursday.  However, the varsity boys played the Andrew Jackson Confederates on Friday.  The boys came out victorious with a final score of 31-6.  The game however ended tragically.  A player from the other team was terribly injured when going for a tackle.  He completely crushed his ankle and had to be airlifted to the hospital.  Please be sure to keep this player and his family in your prayers as he goes through this trying and difficult time.  Next week the boys will be playing Jeff Davis.

Please be sure to also keep Wardlaw in your prayers throughout the rest of this very busy week! God bless!
