Interviewing Mr. Whitlock on a recent visit to the office.
Interviewing Mrs. Susan Williams in the College Counseling Office

Our first unit in K5 is all about school. We have been learning the names of different staff members. Today, we talked about Mr. Whitlock, Mrs. Laurie, and Mrs. Susan. I told the class the administrator's title and then asked them what they thought these people did all day.
Some of their responses : "Mr. Whitlock sits down on the table and works on his computer." "Mr. Whitlock puts kids in time-out." Mr. Whitlock directs the whole school." "Mr. Whitlock sits in his office and sleeps all day." "Mr. Whitlock catches people doing bad things-- like if you do a cartwheel and you hit someone in the head with your shoe."
"Mrs. Laurie plays on her computer." "Mrs. Laurie sits at the desk and works on her computer all day." "Mrs. Laurie calls your mama if you have a tick on you."
"Mrs. Susan stays in the office and directs college." "Mrs. Susan helps Mr. Whitlock run things." "Mrs. Susan teaches college." "Mrs. Susan directs the kids." "Mrs. Susan works on the computer."
