What do Darius Rucker & Becky Cotton have in common? Both were part of presentations done by 7th grade students at Wardlaw Academy's South Carolina History Class as part of a week long study of famous people from South Carolina. The list included the likes of Strom Thurmond, Preston Brooks, Josh Turner and many others. Teacher David Herring said' " It shows the students the diversity of the people who have lived and worked in our great state."

Mr. John Kemp, a Revolutionary War collector and owner of John Kemp Antiques, spoke to middle school students at Wardlaw Academy. Mr. Kemp shared items from his vast collection and spoke to the students about life in South Carolina during the Revolutionary War.
